Arjun Raj S is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering at TOMS College of Engineering and Polytechnic, Kottayam, Kerala, India. He holds a B.Tech degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering and an M.Tech degree in Wireless Technology. He is committed to promoting excellence in engineering education through quality teaching, research, practical learning, and student mentoring.
His academic and research interests include AC & DC Machines, Power Plants, Automation, Rectification, Simulation, Microcontrollers, PLCs, and emerging technologies in Electrical & Electronics Engineering. He focuses on integrating innovative engineering concepts into classroom teaching while encouraging students to develop strong technical and analytical skills.
His research primarily focuses on simulation techniques and automation in various Electrical & Electronics Engineering applications. His work aims to improve the accuracy, efficiency, reliability, and service life of electrical systems while promoting sustainable and innovative engineering solutions.
During his academic career, he completed several innovative research projects, including “Automatic Pothole and Hump Detector in Vehicle” during his undergraduate studies and “Portable Women Safety Device Using IoT” as his M.Tech project. These projects demonstrate his interest in developing practical and technology-driven solutions to real-world challenges.
He has published research papers in the International Journal of Research and Analytical Reviews (IJRAR), including “A Review Report on: Women Safety by Implementing Concept of IoT” (Volume 11, Issue 02, June 2024) and “SCANORA: An Offline Barcode-Based Student Academic Report Viewer for Educational Institutions” (Volume 05, Issue 03, May 2026). His publications highlight his interest in automation, IoT, and innovative software solutions for educational and engineering applications.
In addition to his academic research, he has gained valuable industrial exposure through internships at KSEB 220 KV Substation, Pallam, KSEB 110 KV Substation, Pala, KSEB 66 KV Substation, Kanjikuzhi, KELTRON, Thiruvananthapuram, KELTRON, Aroor, Unipower Industries, Kottayam (Transformer Manufacturing), and Leela Electric, Moovattupuzha (Panel Board Manufacturing). He has also participated in industrial visits to KSEB Hydro Electric Power Stations, SELCO Solar Power Ltd., Bangalore, and SFO, Ernakulam, gaining practical knowledge in power generation, transformers, panel boards, cables, and renewable energy systems.
As an Assistant Professor, he actively teaches undergraduate and diploma courses in Electrical & Electronics Engineering while mentoring students and guiding academic projects. His areas of expertise include Electrical Systems, Measuring Instruments, DC Machines, Transformers, Induction Machines, Synchronous Machines, FHP Motors, Microcontrollers, PLCs, and industrial automation. He is dedicated to delivering quality technical education with a strong emphasis on practical and industry-oriented learning.
He has also successfully completed a Faculty Development Program (FDP) in March 2026, reflecting his commitment to continuous professional growth.
